I don’t understand everything with this story. But just based on my own knowledge of NiF and all the GL fanfics, Nihuang and Xia Dong are secret lovers. Nihuang is called upon by the emperor in regards to her marriage. War eventually occurs and Nihuang is sent to battle and dies, leaving Xia Dong behind. 😭 Xia Dong already lost Nie Feng prior to this, and now she also lost Nihuang. 💔 If anyone could translate that last part where Nihuang speaks, I’d greatly appreciate it.
